Donald Libasci developed a passion for cooking from an early age. The Tucson native remembers spending many hours with his Sicilian grandfather as he was preparing traditional Italian dishes.

Growing up near the Mexican border began Donald's love for Latin American food. And living near a vast range of Mexican restaurants drew him to the spicy bold flavors that influence his cooking today.

As he began his culinary career, Donald decided his path would lie with Latin cuisine. And so he made it his goal to hold positions at the best restaurants and resorts in Tucson.

Donald started that journey working at the prestigious Canyon Ranch Spa where he was taught the fundamentals of healthy cooking. He then moved to the acclaimed Loews Ventana Canyon Resort where he worked in all of the facility's restaurants, including banquets. During his time at Loews Ventana, Donald began working alongside Rich Koby, Chef de Cuisine at the award winning Ventana Room. While under Rich's wing, Donald perfected the art of sauce making and was offered the position of sous chef, in the newly remodeled Flying V Bar & Grill, by the resort's executive chef. An offer to work with multi award winning and nationally renowned chef James Boyce at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego saw Donald move from his home city to California.

Before long, Donald landed the position of Chef de Cuisine at the resort's Market Café, where his brunch was voted the best in San Diego. His next move brought Donald back to Tucson as the sous chef at Westward Look Resort where he began to dream of opening his own restaurant. This new focus once again took Donald to San Diego after accepting a position at the famed Parallel 33 restaurant with Amiko Gubbins, a James Beard chef and San Diego Chef of the Year.

Finally, in December 2005, Donald realized his dream and opened the doors of Adobe Southwestern Cuisine in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He continues to stay on top of culinary trends to offer a unique menu, blending Southwestern and Latin American cuisine, and the finest dining in Sierra Vista.
